SC Johnson Professional Canada Announces Winners in Happy Hands Contest
BRANTFORD, ON – April 26, 2023 – SC Johnson Professional® Canada, a total solutions provider for industrial, institutional and healthcare users, today announced the grand prize winners of its Happy Hands dispenser design contest. The contest promotes the importance of handwashing to students by asking them to create a design encouraging hand hygiene that are featured on SC Johnson Professional dispensers. The elementary school (K-5) category winner is Jacob, a grade 1 student at Meadowlands Public School in Nepean, Ont. The winner of the middle school (6-8) category is Jenna, a 6th grader at Kensal Park Public School in London, Ont.
Both winning students will receive a $300 general-use gift card, and their schools will each receive a $1,000 donation. Additionally, the winning school systems will receive up to 500 manual soap/sanitizer dispensers for their schools featuring each respective student’s winning design.
“We’re incredibly proud of Jenna’s artistic talent and it was fantastic to see the community come together and support her during the voting period,” said Corene Jovechevic, principal, Kensal Park Public School. “Her attention to detail is phenomenal and the inclusion of various hand hygiene best practices are excellent reminders for us all.”
Each of the designs submitted were evaluated for visual appeal, overall design, unique design elements and creativity. Five finalists in both grade-level categories were selected by a judging panel and then went to a public vote throughout the month of February.
“Our school loved getting the chance to again participate in SC Johnson Professional’s contest and we’re excited about Jacob’s win,” added Cassia Laine, principal, Meadowlands Public School. “This is the second year in a row one of our students has won the Happy Hands contest, showing how important creativity and hand hygiene are to our community.”
