COVID-19 Pandemic Response

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has seen us living and working through unprecedented times. Here at SC Johnson Professional we are all working together to respond to the extreme demand for our products. It’s been difficult. Products can’t be made, packaged and shipped fast enough. Orders can’t be processed, tracked and delivered quick enough. Despite increasing our production up to five-fold on key hand hygiene products and getting record shipments out the door, demand still exceeds our much-expanded capacity.

Nonetheless, we are working longer days and longer weeks to supply record levels of products. We have prioritised production of hand sanitisers and soaps, which are the products in highest demand - in some cases shifting resources temporarily away from other products.

As a key manufacturer of healthcare hand hygiene products, we are also prioritising supply to the hospitals and other healthcare institutions and first responders, all of whom are so critical to getting us through this global pandemic. We continue to work closely with our supply chain and the UK government to ensure we are doing all we can to meet demand and to supply the healthcare sector with these essential products.

We have worked closely with the UK government to ensure our operations are classified as ‘essential to the COVID-19 response’ and that our employees are categorised as key workers, enabling our production to remain operational at all times.

Our customer service teams are also looking at every opportunity to process and ship despite dealing with logistics disruptions and having to take extra steps for previously routine activities. With many new initiatives in place, we expect to be able to continue to supply those most in need – as we are sure our customers and the public will understand, our priority must be those on the front line in the healthcare sector at this time.

That said, any concerns and all suggestions for further improvement are noted and form part of our daily business conversations. We fully understand the concerns of our customers who at this time are not necessarily receiving all the products they have ordered. With this in mind, having already streamlined our production of hand hygiene products to dramatically increase output of a core range of soaps and sanitisers, we’re now expanding this focus to core products across our range and in the process provide further significant improvements in output to help meet customer demand.

In the meantime, we are heartened by the near heroic efforts of our employees and their overall good health. Many are working from home, working together remotely with good effect. We want to reassure that, at our busy production and warehouse facilities, we are taking disciplined measures, including temperature checks, social distancing and thorough cleaning and disinfecting, to keep our people safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19. We know that many businesses are taking similar measures

We are proud that our products help keep people healthy and safe away from home. We share both the opportunity and responsibility for this with the businesses and institutions that use our products. We are in this together. We are working hard for our customers and thank everyone for their patience, understanding and flexibility during these times. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries, suggestions or concerns and we’ll do our best to respond as quick as we can and support you.
