Targeted Hygiene

Helping you break the chain of infection: Find out more about Targeted Hygiene at the CHSA webinar

On Wednesday 22nd September, the 8 Moments of Targeted Hygiene will be firmly in focus at a Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) webinar. Our global Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) Director Dr John Hines will be joined by Professor Sally Bloomfield, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH) to dive in to the ‘8 Moments of Targeted Hygiene’; an approach to hygiene which helps identify the moments of highest risk when it comes to the spread of germs and infection in workplaces and public facilities.

Lorcan Mekitarian, chair of the CHSA, will introduce the webinar and commented: “Infections, including COVID-19, are mostly spread by people interacting directly by touch or airborne routes, or indirectly via surfaces touched by others or infected foods and food surfaces. We want to help people break this chain by spreading the word about the key moments and providing practical information on how best to approach them.”

Dr Hines and Professor Bloomfield were amongst the team of experts who worked on the ‘8 Moments of Targeted Hygiene’ white paper, a science-based approach to helping breaking the chain of infection. With a spotlight on hand hygiene and frequently touched surfaces, the combination of cleaning and disinfecting high-risk surfaces with effective hand hygiene at key moments helps prevent repeated contamination.
