SC Johnson Professional’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability performance at our European headquarters, manufacturing and logistics facility in Denby, UK has been again awarded a Gold Medal rating by EcoVadis this year. EcoVadis is an evidence-based CSR and sustainability ratings framework designed to measure and report on these factors. The result once again puts SC Johnson Professional® in the top 5% of over 100,000 companies rated by EcoVadis across 175+ countries for the second year running, recognising our company efforts at our site in Denby.

For the 2023 rating process we were required to demonstrate up-to-date evidence which showed our commitment to key EcoVadis environmental, social and ethical factors which span environment, labour and human rights, ethics, sustainable procurement and more. According to the EcoVadis criteria, the measurement of these factors is supported by a methodology which draws from international sustainable development standards, including the United Nations Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and ISO 26000. Also, given the rating process is based on percentiles with only the top 5% being awarded a Gold Medal, the rating required in 2023 to achieve this status actually rose from 67-74 to 70-77. This is in recognition of an overall improvement in standards across all companies rated by EcoVadis.

Katja von Raven, SC Johnson Professional® CEO commented: “With the raised ratings implemented by EcoVadis in 2023, the Gold Medal awarded to our Denby site demonstrates our commitment to driving continual improvements in our sustainability and social governance as we continue to work towards a better world for our people, the environment, and the communities in which we operate.”
